Deconstructed Sandwich Bento! Yum!

Today's lunch is a sandwich. No really, it is. Put this all together . . . the green mushy stuff at the top of the photo is avocado egg salad. It has lemon juice, green onion, and green olives in it and it's better than plain-old egg salad when you need something different to do with your hard boiled eggs. Then the other level of Bento holds the tomatoes, onions, and lettuce that I will dress the 'wich with . . . and I have a pretzel log/roll to put this all in. See that cute little monkey face? It's tiny, so I get a feeling of supreme accomplishment when I can think of something good to put in it. She has a head full of horseradish today! And the little banana is really a spoon. A teeny, tiny, itty, bitty spoon. Lunch is too fun.

Here's Lookin' At You, Kid Bento! Yum!

Yay! More fun things to do with the new Bento items I've gotten off ebay. As you see, I am making more use of the veggie cutters with all my salad flower shapes (radish, red onion, cucumber, and red pepper . . . makes for a very colorful "garden"), and of course I'm proud as a new bunny momma over my little triplets there. Soy sauce in a little convenient bottle . . . the nub cap comes right off and it's like a miniature soy sauce bottle. Slices of strawberry and hard boiled egg ensure that all my food groups are represented.

And meet Percy Penguin. He has ranch inside and his beak . . . is actually a spoon . . . omigosh. So much cuteness. I don't know whether to eat my lunch or stare at it lovingly.
But lunch is lunch, and I'm hungry, so we all know how this story ends!

Tribute to Canada in Snack Form Bento! Yum!

Hooray! My fun veggie cutters have arrived. I've been doing all sorts of fun things with them lately (and then, of course, not taking pictures, oh well).
This is a little snack bowl that I bring on Mondays since it's a long day for me and I typically need a little sumthin-sumthin to get me through the day and would prefer not to give in to the candy bowl in the office.
Little maple-leaf shaped local-farm cucumbers (that are super delicious) and a nice tomato on a bed of local-farm greens. Throw a little ranch on that bad-boy and it's a really yummy snack.

Meet My New Box Bento! Yum!

Just your typical lunch . . . rice balls (that's a little vial of soy sauce in the chickie head), hard boiled egg, a fresh green salad and mozz/tom salad. The new box is fun with it's dividing and stacking capabilities, and it seems small but is perfectly portioned for a good lunch for me.
